This is the website I will be using for JMS-430 this semester. In lecture, digital journalism was described as incorporating ethical and digital storytelling by creating a landscape where stories can be accessed by a larger audience across a variety of platforms, including personal websites or social media. I am excited to explore more avenues of digital journalism and create a portfolio throughout the semester. Apart from learning more technical abilities, such as coding or website construction, I am eager to learn more about how digital journalism can create an impact on a variety of communities as the digital landscape continues to grow and evolve.
I hope to write stories this semester that can abide by this sense of community engagement. As I’m minoring in sustainability, I am passionate about exploring the relationship between the environment and our sociopolitical culture. To me, fostering community includes understanding our position and impact within our environment, and I hope to incorporate this philosophy in the work I present throughout this semester.
